This book is comprise of 22 short stories from Indonesia.
All these stories are previously published in local magazines or news paper and are most of them are translated in english by Devid Hill.
These stories show the different colour of the life of an Indonesian life. While reading I thought on any part of earth the one thing of human can not be changed is his 'nature".
Among these stories I liked ...A Letter ...a story of a middle aged woman with children and husband. Husband is away from his family for further studies and is not in contact with his wife and children for more than a year. She is wating for her husband's letter. One day she gets a news from a person of her village about her husbands life style and after hearing she becomes panic and wants to write a letter with all of her anger...and  throughout the nigh she writes one after another letter.. but burn them all and ends with a new letter stating care and love messege."but I am sure you are missing us for more. You have never written, but we know it's only because you are busy,or perhaps there are things which prevent you from writiing. All of us at home will always try to be a comfort to you.Stay healthy and try to look after youeself properly for us. I'll keep on writing to you,to keep you company while you are busy. we're all well  and proud of you. You are the pride of your sons and my most prized possessions......

Jakarta....A story of two brothers....poor and rich.....

Matias Akankari....a story of a man from west Irian who accidentaly visits Jakarta and enters in the so called high class club. At the end he comes bank to his native place and says,"High class in Jakarta are just the same as in West Irian " they all only cover their genitals!
